If Manchester City’s history has taught us anything, it’s that the comeback is always on. Take May 30th, 1999, when they overcame a two-goal deficit to win the Second Division play-off final versus Gillingham on penalties. Often seen as the turning point in City’s fortunes, this match has a special place in fan culture and so does the neon yellow and navy striped kit the team wore on the day.
For the 25th anniversary, Puma were bringing it back as a testament to the tenacity of the club and the fans that never, ever, ever give in. How’s that for a comeback?
